Laura Spichtig (1997) is a pianist from central Switzerland, living in The Hague, who independently brings interdisciplinary projects to the stage. In January 2024, she successfully completed her Master of Arts in Music Performance Classical Piano in the class of Stefan Wirth with a minor in chamber music. The young pianist attended various masterclasses with Brigitte Meyer, Werner Bärtschi, Bernd Glemser, Pria Mitchell, Oliver Wille, Wen Sin Yang and others. During her master’s studies, Laura Spichtig deepened her passion for free improvisation, working intensively with Magda Mayas on prepared piano. She later completed the CAS in Free Improvisation at the FHNW Basel under the guidance of Andrea Neumann.
Laura presents her music primarily through interdisciplinary projects that she brings to the stage, such as “l u d e s”—a solo performance inspired by Scriabin’s Preludes, blending free improvisation on prepared piano with a self-designed lighting concept—and “ELLIPSIS”, a duo project with Norwegian singer Emily Adomah.
She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in New Audiences and Innovative Practices at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, where she continues to expand her interdisciplinary artistic work.
